Thank you to the people of China, to all the wonderful volunteers and to BOCOG!
Through these Games, the world learned more about China, and China learned more about the world Athletes from 204 National Olympic Committees came to these dazzling venues and awed us with their talent
New stars were born Stars from past Games amazed us again We shared their joys and their tears, and we marveled at their ability We will long remember the achievements we witnessed here
As we celebrate the success of these Games, let us altogether wish the best for the talented athletes who will soon participate in the Paralympic Games They also inspire us
To the athletes tonight: You were true role models You have shown us the unifying power of sport The Olympic spirit lives in the warm embrace of compe *** s from nations in conflict Keep that spirit alive when you return home
These were truly exceptional Games!
And now, in accordance with tradition, I declare the Games of the XXIX Olympiad closed, and I call upon the youth of the world to assemble four years from now in London to celebrate the Games of the XXX Olympiad

看完男女4x100米决赛，想说两句“肺腑之言。
之一句话：来了就不要离开。中国男女短跑团队虽多次与奥运会奖牌差之毫厘、失之交臂，但他们已是令国人骄傲的“金牌级别”的田径英雄。一回生，二回熟。中国田径队已慢慢习惯将奥运决赛场当作自已的主场，习惯在舞台的中央表演“中国节目”，展示中国速度、中国力量。突破口已经打开了，“黄种人进不了决赛”的“城墙”已经轰塌了，来了我们就要占住地盘“喝酒吃肉”，就不要离开。要感谢栏王刘翔和他的教练孙海平，刘翔是中国短跑、中国田径的“北极星”。在刘翔的激励下，中国短跑不再是短板，正处于集团突破的关键时刻，坚持下去，有望形成“井喷”态势，再坚持下去，就能跑出一片新天地。
第二句话：有伯乐才有千里马。本届奥运会田径比赛中，中国田径运动员接受采访，共同的一句话就是“感谢教练”。中国田径队教练默默无闻的付出实在太多了，尤其是许多冷门项目、短板弱目。我没有去查现在的中国田径队总教练是谁、教练团队中有哪些教练，但能出成绩的总教练和教练团队肯定是一个好团队，应该立功授奖。苏神（苏炳添）、雨神（王春雨）们都对自己的洋教练赞不绝口，可见洋教练功不可没。尝到了甜头的中国田径队还要大量引进高水平的洋教练，让我们的田径运动更加科学化、国际化。
苏神、雨神，加油！中国田径，加油！
“鸟巢”，它是北京奥运会的主会场，建设者留下不少辛勤的汗水！作为北京奥运会成功举办的标志，奥运会开幕式起到举足轻重的作用，奥组委在“鸟巢”进行了排练和试放烟花。它不仅有雄伟的外表，而且有深刻的内涵。它显示了我们国家的强盛，我们人民的勤劳。
奥运精神是“更快、更高、更强”。
奥林匹克格言，亦称奥林匹克座右铭或口号，系奥林匹克运动宗旨之一。格言"更快、更高、更强"(Citius,
Altius,
Fortius),是顾拜旦一位密友迪东（Henri
martin
Didon)于1895年提出的。他将这句话刻在他所办学校的门楣上。顾拜旦对此颇为赞赏，经他提议，1913年获国际奥委会正式批准，将它定为奥林匹克格言。1920年它又成为奥林匹克标志的一部分。此外，也有把"体育就是和平"、"重要的是参加，而不是取胜"作为格言的。
